Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students belong to a school that is categorized as "highest poverty", but we don't let that label define us! My students are fun, silly, curious, and brave. They are regular kids who love to have fun and laugh.

Our town is agriculture based, and many of my students' parents work in the fields to support their families.

This provides my students with strong work ethics as they watch their parents spend their days enduring hard labor and increment weather. However, it also poses some struggles as my students often have less support with their studies. At times, it is difficult for their parents to take time off to help them explore the world around them.

My Project

My students need athletic equipment to enrich their time during recess and PE. With exposure to various sports, they will learn how to positively interact with each other while building a foundation of teamwork and respect. These items will allow them to find outlets for their energy which will help them focus when it is time to return to the classroom.

Living a healthy lifestyle is crucial to a happy and healthy future.

By supporting my students in this endeavor, we are setting them up for success in whichever paths their lives lead them. This project will impact my students' coordination, self-confidence, and muscle strength.
