My Students

My classroom is a place where students feel safe, smart and special. It is a sanctuary from the pressures of the general education curriculum. It is a place where hands-on experience comes first and students can learn at their own pace.

As a special education teacher for a small rural Hawaii elementary school, I am faced with the challenge of reaching out to kids in grades K-5 who are struggling with the general education curriculum.

All my students learn best with hands-on activities and materials and deserve a place to explore their world, expand their ideas and answer their questions.

My Project

My students truly love polymer clay! What is more fun than building your own toys! Clay is such an important sensory tool. It calms children and exercises their hands and minds while stimulating their creativity!

The students love to harden the clay to bring home the toys they make for themselves or for gifts.

Students with special needs require lots of hands-on materials and this clay is perfect at meeting each of my students just where they are at! Thank you for considering donating to my awesome kids! We love to use new art materials to boost our creativity.
