Exciting Reading Cards & Interactive Reading Games
Help me give my students engaging hands on experience practicing reading skills. Game boards, colorful practice cards, color paper and laminating pouches will provide our 3rd grade students with reading practice that is engaging, relevant and fun.

My Project
Students love to play! Fun chapter books are great for independent reading, but in small groups it would be helpful to have meaningful, engaging reading texts sets set up as games. This would allow for children to be exposed to a variety of colorful text as well as engage in a game style learning.
After the powerful influence of a TED talk about the Mario Effect, I realized that our students need more attractive reading texts and games to help push them to achieve that extra growth.
These materials within this grant would allow students to have challenging, relevant reading materials in game format or task cards. Without a doubt, encouraging them to try extra hard to get to the next level, all the while pushing their reading ahead.
