My Students
My students are a diverse group of hard workers! They come to school every day excited to learn something new. All of my students are capable of great things, and need opportunities to access technology in order to succeed.
My third grade classroom is made up of 20 amazing students - most come from low income families and one-third are English language learners.
My goal as a teacher is to provide my community of learners with creative, challenging, and meaningful learning experiences every day. Despite the many challenges my students experience outside of school, they know that when they walk through the door of our classroom I expect their best, and I will do all I can to help them reach their potential.
My Project
As part of our reading curriculum, my class reads the book Poppy by Avi, an exciting story about a little mouse who battles a fierce owl. During our book study we spend time researching different woodland animals featured in the story, and owls are always the favorite. As a culminating activity, I would like to do an owl pellet dissection!
My students are so excited to learn about owls, and dissecting an owl pellet will be a fascinating way to conclude our research.
Your donation will help to provide each student with an owl pellet to dissect as well as the material needed to do the dissection. I can't wait to see my class as they discover the bones inside an owl pellet!
