My Project

Our ELA department wants to build life-long readers! We hope to create a community of readers this year by developing our own schoolwide Battle of the Books - an exciting team competition that will get our students excited to read and talk about books. This project addresses our school-wide literacy goal to increase the number of students reading at grade level. Each teachers hopes to have several copies of the books available in their classroom, so that all students have access to participating in the competition. The more engaging books there are for students in the classroom, the more excitement there is for reading!
