Help me give my students new, engaging emergent reader books to refresh our outdated library collection and inspire young learners to develop confidence, practice reading skills, and foster a lifelong love of reading.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The emergent reader books I am requesting will make a significant difference in my students' learning by providing them with engaging, age-appropriate materials that support early literacy development. Many of the books in our current early reader section are outdated and no longer capture the interest of young readers. By refreshing our collection with new, high-interest books, I can offer students stories that are both accessible and exciting, helping them build essential reading skills like fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. These books will provide the foundation they need to grow into confident, independent readers.
My goal for this project is to create a vibrant and inviting early reader section that encourages students to explore and develop a lifelong love of reading.
I want to ensure that every child, regardless of their reading level, can find books that interest them and support their learning journey. With a variety of new titles, I aim to provide students with the resources they need to succeed academically while fostering a sense of curiosity and a love for storytelling.
What makes my students special is their enthusiasm for learning and their eagerness to explore new ideas. They come from diverse backgrounds and bring unique perspectives to our school community. Despite the challenges some may face, they are resilient, curious, and always ready to learn. By providing them with new emergent reader books, I can give them the tools and inspiration to become lifelong readers and learners.
