Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

It is a new school year and my students come from all different parts of the world. My students have newly come to the United States this year, while some of my students have been here for two years. They are eager as ever to learn English and to succeed in their academic studies. While I teach in English, students rely heavily on translations from their phone. By giving students picture books and books like "Of Love and Other Demons" and "Matilda," they will not become overwhelmed with and instantly shut down, I am confident through independent reading every single day that my students will acquire the English language quicker and more fluently than ever!
