Help me give my students money hands-on teaching kits, money activity cards, money counting puzzles, money playing cards, and money activity mats for my students to learn about economics, money, and finance.
My students are a very special, diverse, and unique group of second and third graders. They come from various backgrounds, families, cultures, and religions. Our students speak English, French, and Spanish as well. The Immersion Program allows our students to learn half day in English and half day in the target language of French. They are from all over our city and come from a variety of homes; rural and suburbs. They love technology, reading, and learning through hands-on games.
My Project
I will grow professionally by using the financial literacy resources as a guide and supplement when teaching economics. The teacher guide and materials will allow me to create rigorous, authentic, real-world activities for my students.
The money hands-on teaching guide and resources will allow me to teach my students the importance of developing life skills such as: combining coins and bills, comparing money values and adding/subtracting money values.
My students will benefit from the activities and resources by applying what they have learned in their lives and real-world scenarios, such as: buying products, selling products, and saving for products.
