My Project

In an urban setting ordering supplies comes with budget challenges. We have awesome students who outperform the rest of the state and county despite their circumstances. I want to reward them for their perseverance and hard work with art materials that will grab their attention!

These printing, painting, sculpture, and textile supplies will excite my urban students to create unique and personal works of art and remind them they too deserve a great art experience!

We do not have a kiln, so the Epoxy clay will give us a chance to work in 3D. The heavy body acrylic paint will be for my advanced students so they can taste a bit of how professionals work. The Gelli plates will help us explore printing in dynamic ways, and I want to explore textiles and sewing as well so we can appreciate the joy of a well made hand made soft sculpture.

When students can create work that is tied to their interests, and are provided more "professional" supplies, they dive deeper. You can help inspire an innercity child and ensure they have an awesome art experience!
