Exciting Art & Inspirations: Emotions Captured in Resin

My Students

My classes are filled with wonderful and compassionate students who are trying to make their school and community a better place for everybody! They attend a small school in a very rural farming community. The students and school are plagued by the poor economics of the area and the continual lessening of funds provided by the state. They are now confronted by the unusual steps they must take in school to be safe from COVID-19. While we are safely in session right now I want to give the students some new and creative experiences!

Despite these situations, these students want to succeed, and we need to fully prepare them to meet the world!

I must commend their courage and compassion for learning and try to provide them with what they need to get as much education as possible, safely at this time!

My Project

The molds are reusable and take a multitude of shapes including goldfish and turtles to name a few. The TicTacToe mold will allow them to make long lasting entertainment/displays of their work. The resin is clear but dyes, glitter, or even photos will be added to allow for self-expression. I wish to have the students create pieces that have great meaning to them. Using a photo of a favorite pet or a relative from the past will not only make a very unique piece of art, it will help preserve emotions for years to come.

Art that can preserve emotions, thoughts, and history is art with meaning that will be treasured for generations.

I want to provide an opportunity for the students to think about the past and present and create work that will take those thoughts forward into the future. So many of the things they create are short lived because they are not always cared for properly, and this particular project lasts so much longer.
