Excitement in the Classroom

Help me give my students games to make math more engaging and exciting and some stories to listen to during their listen to reading station.

My Students

First grade is a very fun, exciting, and challenging year for kids! My first graders are a very active group. They learn best though learning and when technology is integrated into the classroom. Our school reaches a very diverse population of abilities.

The students love to learn through playing games and doing hands-on activities.

I work to increase their comprehension level by applying what they are learning to real world situations and scenarios. They learn through group activities and collaboration, as well.

My Project

All students need to be engaged and excited about the content in order for them to learn. I am asking for some fun and age appropriate books on CDs for students to listen to for their 'listen to reading' station. The CD player will also enable more students to be able to participate in the listening center at one time.

The math games will help to make addition, subtraction, and learning about money more exciting for the students.

The games chosen will be implemented to my math stations multiple times throughout the year to reinforce what they are learning in the classroom.
