Help me give my students some super comfy places to read! We would love the swivel chairs, especially, so we can feel big and important while we dig in during guided reading!
I work in a school that is on the cusp of becoming a title one school. I have students from very diverse socioeconomic backgrounds: some come from families who are very well off, while others come from families who are struggling to survive. This is not my ploy here.
When my students walk into my classroom, we are one.
It does not matter where they came from. It does not matter what they are wearing or whether or not they were able to do their homework last night. We work together and we respect each other wholeheartedly. We have common goals and we have individual goals but we all work toward the same idea: that we can always be the best version of ourselves.
My students are the hardest working group of kids I have ever had. They set goals and they attain them; not because I am pushing them, but because they truly want to be the very best they can be. When it comes to reading, these kids are second-to-none. They LOVE to read and will do so with anything they can get their hands on!
My Project
My kiddos absolutely love to snuggle up with a good book! Our problem is that we have a lot of floor space and not a lot of comfy seating choices! We love to lay on the floor when our two bean bag chairs are being used but we would love even more to have comfy seats to sit in! We love to share seats and read with friends.
Being an inclusion room, we really like having choice in where to work.
We can use clip boards to work in new chairs or we can use lap desks! Let's get flexible!
