Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from low-income families that are of Hispanic and African-American descent. A majority of my students speak two languages and struggle with the transitions between the languages. Some students can not afford basic school supplies, get a good night's​ sleep, concentrate on their educational success due to home issues that some adults never have to think about. My students need stability and consistency on a daily basis which I try to provide with a daily routine.

It is my job to provide a safe and effective environment for a successful academic future.

I focus on each of my students' needs through small group and one on one work. It is my goal to keep students engaged and focused while in small groups. I have to be very creative with this due to our school's limited funding for extra materials. These materials would help my students stay focused and productive during their center time.

My Project

My students use a variety of different websites and apps for learning and reviewing skills that are taught in class. These learning sites use visual descriptions and sound effects to show the students connections between skills and the class lessons.

Headphones would give my students the ability to participate and interact with the websites at a deeper level allowing them to hear all of the directions and commands.

Students learning and working with technology every single day. I can have students read, take tests, write, and so much more in the chrome books in our classroom and they love every single minute of it. Headphones would be an extreme help that could help them focus on their individual lesson and skill without any interruption!
