My Students
Can you imagine what it would be like to learn in the 21st century and not have a computer in your classroom? My students do not have one reliable computer in the classroom. Having a computer would allow my students to have individual instruction tailored to fit their specific needs. Please help?
Our elementary school is located in an urban setting.
It is a small school. We don't have a lot of community support. The school receives funding from Title 1 and the free lunch program. With recent budget cuts, we can't replace out-dated computers. My students are third and fourth graders who are part of the special ed population in our building. Working computers in the classroom would allow my students to tap into education on a global scale.
My Project
I really need these computers in my classroom. My children are tactile and visual learners. If given the right tools I know my children will soar. I believe exceptional ed. students should be given the same opportunities as the general ed students. I intend to help the students use safe, educational websites to help build their skills. We will also use the netbooks to extend learning in all content areas. Technology surrounds us in our world today. Students need to be exposed to computers and Internet-based learning. More computers in the classroom will allow me to have small groups working on them throughout the day, expanding their technological and curriculum knowledge.
