My Project
I am writing to request support for mental health supplies in my English Language Arts classroom at my high school. Many of my students face emotional and mental health challenges, and providing these wonderful teenagers with the right tools will help them manage stress, stay focused, and thrive academically and socially.
What makes my students special is their resilience, creativity, and diversity; my students are passionate, curious learners who bring unique perspectives to every lesson--however, many face obstacles outside the classroom that affect their ability to focus and learn inside the classroom.
Providing them with mental health resources will help ensure that they can perform at their best and feel confident in their ability to succeed.
The items I am requesting—such as stress-relief fidget tools, calming classroom lighting, and mindfulness prompts—will provide students with tangible resources to regulate their emotions and create a more focused, peaceful classroom environment. These tools will help students reduce anxiety, stay engaged in class, and develop healthy coping strategies that will benefit their learning and personal growth.
My goal for this project is to foster a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and empowered to prioritize their mental well-being. I believe that by addressing their emotional needs, students will be better equipped to engage with the curriculum, express themselves, and build the skills necessary for academic success.
