Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The classroom easel is the center for learning in the world of first grade. An easel is used to store valuable resources used for whole-group instruction, such as dry-erase markers, big books, and magnetic manipulatives. The easel will be used as a stand for big books, a place to display anchor charts, a whiteboard for teacher-led instruction, as well as student participation.

An easel is the perfect classroom tool for this purpose.

This easel will allow students to stay in close proximity and keep them engaged during lessons. We will use the easel throughout our entire day! We can read a big book using an easel. We can write a story together on chart paper, using the easel. We can use magnetic manipulatives to model math skills, on the easel. The easel can be used for independent center work as well. Students are going to benefit greatly in many ways from the addition of an easel to our classroom.
