This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Using the pop-up books can add to any unit! I hope to be able to use these pictures books, reading can be educational and fun!
My students are from a very low income community that hardly ever gets read to at home.
Some of my students may not have ever held a book before entering kindergarten. They love to listen to a story either by someone reading to them or listening to it on tape. A lot of the students are unable to read and listen to quality books.
My Project
Using different pop-up books with different units inspires the curiosity of young children. I want to introduce my students to the world of David A. Carter and his beautiful creation and wonderful work of pop-up books. Children are easily distracted; however, with these pop-up books, their imagination will run wild!
These pop-up books are geared to teaching the basic concept that go along with our unit.
Not only will my students learn about colors, number, language development, they will also hear important parts of literacy. Students will be able to listen and read different books that go with the whole week or just one day as I am teaching them.
