This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project is for the beginning of the school year—a time full of hope, excitement, and fresh opportunities. My students are curious, kind, and full of potential. Every day, they walk into the classroom ready to learn, create, and grow, despite any challenges they may face outside of school. What I love most about them is their resilience and joy when discovering something new. They inspire me to provide the best possible environment for learning.

This project aims to provide my bilingual second-grade students with essential school supplies, a wider variety of English and Spanish books to support literacy in both languages, and cleaning materials to maintain a safe and organized classroom environment.

We aim to create an inclusive, engaging, and healthy space where every child feels empowered to learn, grow, and succeed by meeting these needs at the start of the school year. This environment supports language development, cultural appreciation, and academic growth for all learners. The books I’m requesting include English and Spanish titles, which will expand our current library and give students greater access to texts reflecting their language and experiences. These books will help strengthen their literacy in both languages and spark a love for reading. The school supplies will allow all students—whether they are native English speakers, Spanish speakers, or emergent bilinguals—to participate fully and express themselves with confidence.

In addition, the cleaning materials are essential for maintaining a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment. A clean classroom helps students focus, feel proud of their space, and take ownership of their learning. With your support, we can ensure our students have everything they need to shine and succeed from day one.
