My Students
Classroom Motto: "If you can dream it, you can do it!"
Many of my students enter the year, significantly below grade level and after being behind grade level for 3 years, they are often unmotivated and no longer have the belief that they CAN learn and accomplish their dreams.
Our school has 89% of its students qualifying for free and reduced price lunch and many students are homeless and highly mobile. It is no surprise that these students lose hope at such a young age or struggle with learning the same thing as other 3rd graders in the state. For most of these kids, they are worrying about where they are going to sleep at night or whether or not they will get supper when they get home.
My Project
I want to give my students something to be proud of; I want to instill hope back into them. I want them to work so hard on creating something that they want to hold onto forever and laminating their work will make it long lasting. Their work will be something that they will be able to keep, when everything else in their life is constantly changing.

For the students, knowing that their work can be laminated to keep their work last forever, they will be motivated to work hard and do their best work.
It will remind them that if they "dream it, they can do it!"
