Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our young adults students with neuro-diverse are learning to develop their recreational skills while also increasing their communication, motor, and social skills. Together we can teach them to work collaboratively with others while learning about sharing, teamwork, and friendship.
Not only do puzzles and Legos provide multi-sensory learning opportunities, they also open the doorway to social interactions through communication avenues.
Table top activities also help improve focus, encourage upper body and core strength, build fine motor skills. In turn, peers and support staff use these items to take turns, teach reciprocity, and learn step-by-step activities that will help them both in and outside of the classroom.
