Your gift has made a meaningful impact in our students' daily experiences.\r\n\r\nThese special tools provide comfort, focus, and a sense of security for our learners—especially those who benefit from sensory support. I have seen students embrace the plush animals during moments of stress, helping them calm their emotions and return to learning more quickly. Others use them as a quiet anchor during classwork, which allows them to stay engaged and confident.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our classroom feels more welcoming and supportive. Our students know they are cared for not only by the teachers and staff around them, but also by kind individuals in the wider community who want to see them thrive. This program is aimed at enabling individuals, community groups, businesses, churches, schools and other organizations to play an active role in maintaining the beauty and cleanliness of their neighborhoods, preventing pollution from reaching our creeks, bays and ocean to help ensure proper storm water runoff to help prevent localized flooding.\r\n\r\nOur Post Secondary students have since been keeping the area around our school and neighboring Monastery clean by volunteering up to four days per week. They work in a small group with a job coach using the items you donated - Safety Work Gloves, High Visibility Safety Vests, and Grabber Reacher Tools with Magnetic Tips in several colors. The students take responsibility to self-report data to the City after each event. Students learn and practice data entry by reporting the number of volunteers, assessing the type of items collected, calculating time spent volunteering, and estimating weight of the litter collected. The Adopt-A-Spot program continues to benefit the students by providing opportunities to learn vocational skills while taking pride in their community.\r\n\r\nThank you for your kind and generous donations! When the MoneyCalc Calculators and Coin-u-lators were delivered, the students were so excited to help unbox and explore them. They even learned how to use batteries!\r\n\r\nThe Coin-u-lator is a hand-held, coin-counting calculator that has taken our counting money skills to a new level. Each realistic coin and dollar button makes a sound when pressed or it can be muted if it's a distraction. We are using the Coin-U-Lator to count money, teach the value of different coins, determine how much money is needed to make a purchase, and more!\r\n\r\nThe MoneyCalc Calculator is a traditional calculator that also functions as a money-math calculator by showing the dollar signs and ending zeros on money computations. This calculator lets students see how money-math problems are worked. We love having a calculator that shows money amounts displayed with the dollar sign and ending zeros. Finally, five dollars is displayed on the screen as \"$5.00,\" unlike a traditional calculator that just displays \"5.\" \r\n\r\nHaving tools that provide 'hands-on,' money-counting practice has been invaluable for our students. We are now able to show them money-math computations that are visually concrete as each number entered is displayed in this same, easy-to-understand way (e.g., \"$2.00 + $1.50 = $3.50\").\r\n\r\nAlthough, we have a variety of calculator options in our classrooms, we love that we now have calculators that can be used functionally and meaningfully. This has made math fun and we can't be more excited.\r\n\r\nThank you for your kind and generous donations!
