Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a very diverse group. They come from different backgrounds and beliefs. Some kids have access to technology and some don't have it at home. With the rise in technology knowledge for current jobs, all students need to know how to be tech-savvy. Our school has a diverse population, with ninety-five percent of students receiving free or reduced-price lunches. Many face challenges in and out of school and in their homes. A school is a place of refuge for some, and I want to provide ample opportunities to shine where they are in their development. As their teacher, I see a group of wonderful children full of energy and a willingness to jump in and try new things.
With Arizona being forty-ninth in state funding, it isn't easy to give all students what they need.
For our students to compete in the job market, they must be exposed to and solve problems.
My Project
Today's students struggle to keep themselves organized. They can't find assignments or lose pencils throughout the day. This project was designed to create organized places for students within my classroom.
Students need to learn to organize their materials to be efficient and productive in life.
In this project, I have tubs to keep completed work, paper holders to find resources, and even places to display their completed work! Students will practice and learn to put their work and supplies in a safe place. These are skills they will take with them into all areas of their lives.
