My Project

At my school, students come from many different countries and will have a variety of capabilities with speaking the English language.

Over the course of the past months, I have had many new students join my classes that speak a language other than English.

The materials that I am requesting, including books that are in various languages with English translations, will encourage all of my students to read and will help them develop their English reading and speaking skills. These materials will help the English language learners and newcomers, by providing them with ways to learn the language that are fun, engaging, and don’t set them apart from their peers. High-interest texts, such as graphic novels, fiction and fantasy and relatable music will encourage their love of reading.

In addition, the snacks that are requested, such as cookies, mints, and more will help keep all of my students motivated and focused in the classroom, especially through these upcoming warm months. Being focused begins with being happy and content in the classroom.
