Everyone Poops! Barn Owl Pellets for 5 Fifth Grade Classes.
Help me give my students a highly engaging hands-on experience. These owl pellets will allow students in all 5 of our fifth grade classes to have a learning experience that will help them better understand the food web.
My class consists of 20 unique individuals. I teach my schools fifth grade Gifted and Talented cluster. These students always attempt to go above and beyond so they can achieve their goals.
My class holds the worlds' future authors, rocket scientists, mathematicians, professional athletes, and educators.
Although my kiddos aspire for greatness, being at a Title One school doesn't always grant them the same opportunities. With your help, we can gain the tools and skills needed to reach those goals.
My goal is to help my students leave this world better than they received it. To make this a reality, my students need access to the scientific knowledge and hands-on experiences that will enable them to think critically. Help me help my students be the kind of human this world needs.
My Project
One of the reasons students love science so much is because of its hands-on nature. Kids ask so many good questions and many of us learn best by touching and experimenting with real world materials, rather than just reading, watching, or listening. Not only is this experience highly engaging, but it also allows students to master the standards related to the food web.
The students will become scientists and dissect these pellets to learn more about the owl's behavior and the complex nature of the food chain.
These pellets will be distributed among 5 fifth grade classes, servicing over 100 students.
