Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are faced with many challenges on a daily basis. I try to provide my students with as many opportunities to be hands-on in the classroom, which allows them to become engaged and interested in learning. I am able to do this by keep things simple and providing my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. Being hands-on in the classroom allows my students to learn essential life skills that will impact them far beyond this school year.

Being a Title I school means that most students come from homes where the extra money is not available to contribute to learning materials that would improve and enhance their learning experience. It will be because of your donations my students will receive learning materials and supplies needed to truly thrive.
My Project
I am requesting a carpet where all of my class can comfortably sit and listen to instruction and also use the listening center. Having a listening center will allow my students that opportunity to have a variety of fiction and non-fiction books read to them why they track the words in the book.
The more exposure to literature they have their fluency, interest, and love for reading will increase.
If my students are blessed with the carpet, listening center, and the requested books they will be able to enjoy books being read to them and the ability to read books in an area where they feel like they belong and where literature can come alive and open up their world far beyond first grade.
