My Students

My school is a new STEAM school; the first and only elementary STEAM school in our district. As a new school and grade level, we are slowly building up our resources. When a child masters the art of creating, they will have the power to excel in all areas of our exciting STEAM curriculum! My students like to move around, engage in hands-on learning, collaborate with classmates, and follow learning routines in the classroom.

My students are creative, curious and innovative.

My classroom is the perfect representation of the diverse world around us. No matter what background my students come from, I strive to give them an engaging and enriching educational experience that is accessible to all.

With additional tools at their fingertips, students will be given the opportunity to enhance these exciting areas of learning. I am so excited for my group of second graders to become creative citizens in an ever-expanding world!

My Project

By providing my second grade students with math center games and reading intervention tools, I will be able to provide the best, most direct, differentiated instruction. Students will be taught in small groups at their specific learning level for each math and reading unit.

Small group instruction guarantees students are taught at their instructional level.

Guided reading and math materials help me to provide this best practice direct instruction.

These comprehension kits are already created and differentiated for various levels of student instruction. The math materials will allow students to independently apply and practice skills. I will have research based, proven strategies and lessons to ensure my students learn and progress to meet the Common Core State standards. I will also be able to ensure my students on IEP's and my second language learners are receiving the best most direct instruction so they too make make progress and meet year end goals.
