This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are mostly from the north and northwest side of the city. The dedication with both varsity and junior varsity players to excel is off the charts. We are trying to build the strongest neighborhood softball program in Chicago.

The community is strong, energetic, supportive and are deeply passionate about their children's education.

I firmly believe that a strong sports program is a natural link to draw students to the school. We currently have numerous academic partners who are making the turnaround happen.

My Project

Entire class participation is important in physical education classes. The MAC-T Big Blue Base System - Big Blue Base with Tall Post and Net that we selected will allow all students to play volleyball in PE class.

The goal in PE is to have the entire class participate.

The system we chose will be easy to store, are durable and will not damage our gymnasium floor.

Students in my PE class love to play volleyball. If we have two net systems everyone will get to play. Two systems enhance the volleyball unit in PE class. The system is versatile and will transport outside for spring volleyball outdoors.
