Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every student, regardless of their age or grade, deserves the opportunity to learn how to read. Many of my older elementary students receiving special education services are reading well below grade level and need additional support to catch up. These decodable readers will provide just the opportunity to do so. With their "high-interest, low-level" format, my students will be able to practice reading with stories that have more age-appropriate content.

With these new books, my older, beginning readers will not only be engaged by age-appropriate content, but will also feel more comfortable practicing their skills.

These books will be used to supplement reading instruction in decoding and comprehension. My goal is to provide my students with endless opportunities to practice and become strong, independent readers!
