This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am almost done with my first year in a self-contained autism classroom. My students have grown so much since September. I am also lucky enough to move up with them for another two years and continue our work together.

With the ability to communicate in an appropriate way, my students will blossom even more.

My students are mostly nonverbal and fall on the moderate to severe end of the autism spectrum. A few of them are starting AAC, but need more consistent exposure.

The iPad I am looking to get will be used to download an AAC app for me to model and use throughout the school day with my students. The carrying case and strap will help increase the portability of the device, thus increasing their exposure. I am looking forward to your support!
