Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach K-5th music at Gault Elementary School in Santa Cruz. This is a wonderful and diverse Title 1 school. I am trying to gather a few essential items for our music program this year.

The bass bar in Bb will be used in after school band where we often play in the key of Bb.

This will be a great way to connect our Orff instruments with our band instruments and involve as many students as possible in our band program.

The frame drums will be added to our existing collection so that we have a full classroom set. We use them to teach rhythm and they are a wonderful tool.

The book is a wonderful Orff music instruction book full of ideas and games to make learning fun and to connect music and movement.

The clarinet reeds will be used in our after school band. We currently do not have any reeds, and this is the perfect thickness for our beginning band.

The "boomwackers" are a fun way to learn pitch and percussion at the same time. We have some in the class, but one more set would give us a full class set which is ideal.
