Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These thinking students need to collaborate on vertical board that everyone can see. Not just in single groups of 3-4, but to be able to see the thinking processes of other groups. Groups that are stuck can look around the room to see how others are learning, borrow ideas and run with them. The possibilities of coming up with better ideas, by seeing what others are working on is endless. Any invention or ideas comes with ideas from multiple other collaborators.

If all 21 per classroom of kids can get ideas for each other by scanning the room, miraculous things can happen.

Students are standing, time on task increases, amount of discussion, participation, and persistence also increases (according to Thinking Classroom in Mathematics, by Liljedahl). Boards can be share by whole 4th grade team.

This can be used in multiple subjects not just math. We are able to get them off the computer and shared doc, to a classroom that is a share doc that everyone can see! We can take them anyplace. Even outside!
