My Students

The students at my school come from an underprivileged neighborhood where one hundred percent of them receive free or reduced-price lunch. Violence and negligence are daily occurrences in our neighborhood, yet they come to school each day determined to succeed. My students do not have much, and our athletic programs have even less. My players come to practice every day and display resilience and an attitude to succeed. They inspire me each and every day to push them harder toward their dreams. Your help will make our players feel good and represent our school well when we travel to and compete against, the schools in our league!

My Project

Approximately 10 percent of all of our students have learning disabilities in our school, with inclusion in every class. We have about 5 percent with physical disabilities as well. Students are using the digital camera to explore and edit their own photographs, using programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Students will use various paint applications on the computer to turn their photographs into drawings and paintings.

Not only will students learn how to edit photographs, they will learn about composition and perspective.

They will also use the camera for video editing and website design. This is a great way to incorporate math and technology in the arts. Students will be able to create drawings and paintings on the computer. Students will also be able to take their own photographs, using the camera provided and navigate various programs successfully.
