Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school provides the basic tools for my students to succeed. You can help us acquire additional tools to enrich their learning.
I teach a very diverse group of students.
Culturally, they have roots in Mexico, Central and South America, India, the Philippines, Korea, Egypt, Nigeria, and various parts of the United States. Eleven of my twenty-three students are English language learners. Many of my students come from working class families who have limited resources to invest in their educations. Despite that challenge, my students' parents are involved in their children's educations. My students work hard and are extremely eager to learn.
My Project
My students are fortunate in that my school provides the basic supplies they need to learn. But some of our supplies are limited and will soon run out. Currently, we have enough drawing paper, color pencils, and sharpies to cover one quarter of art lessons for each classroom. With your help, my classroom supply of these tools will be replenished and my students will be able to continue to create art for the remainder of the year.
Similarly, our school provides dry-erase markers for me to use in my teaching. Your donations will help fund markers that my students can use to practice spelling and math skills. Our school also provides a basic set of balls for physical education, like handballs, basketballs, and soccer balls. Your donations will enrich my students' experiences by providing a kickball and base-pads for kickball games. Lastly, some of my students need an alternative to a chair in order to focus on learning. The balance ball you are funding will do that.
My students have the basic tools they need to help them learn.
The art supplies, dry-erase makers, physical education equipment, and balance ball you are helping fund will enrich their learning experiences. I thank you in advance for your generosity!
