Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The supplies I am requesting are just a few basic supplies that my students and I utilize in the classroom on a daily basis. I teach in an SDC-SH (special day class) and I work with individuals with moderate to severe disabilities. I work with students who have different disabilities, varying from autism, intellectual disability, other health impairments, deaf/hard of hearing, and/or orthopedic impairments. We rely heavily on art supplies to complete daily tasks and classroom assignments. I use art supplies as incentives to get my students to complete various activities and tasks (assignments, experiments, life skills tasks, etc.) I provide my students will individual pencil boxes supplied with art supplies and they are able to have ownership of their own supplies. The markers, pencil grips, crayons, and colored pencils will be used to fill my students' pencil boxes. The sensory brush will be utilized with my students who have autism to fulfill their sensory needs and help them with calming down.

The supplies will be used by my students all year long and will be greatly appreciated by each and every one of them.

I get to work with a great group of students and they deserve all the things that their hearts desire. I would like to say thank you in advance for considering my classroom and assisting us with getting our classroom supplies.
