This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Since returning to school post-pandemic, I have been navigating how to best engage my students in in-class learning and provide them with the tools they need to be organized, self-sufficient individuals. This means being creative with physical, hard copy assignments, templates, graphic organizers, and texts that they can repeatedly turn back to for support in preparation for assessments, projects, state exams: (ELPAC, SBA, Renaissance, etc), and overall learning.
One of my main priorities is to teach students how to be successful in school and develop organization skills that they can take with them to college and future careers.
These unique folders will allow students to keep their work organized and allow them to grow and develop their responsibility/ organizational skills. The multi-layered pockets will also help me easily check their work on a routine basis, giving them prompt feedback they can use for improvement. Students will be able to use the color coded tabs and pockets to identify where their work is at any time of the semester. These organizational folders would cut down valuable class time and resources used to glue and set up notebooks which I have tried to pursue in the past.
