My Students

I work at a wonderful K-6 school with about 500 students in Phoenix, AZ. We are a Title I school with high number of our students coming from low income families.

My students absolutely love PE!

No matter what the game or the activity, my students can always be seen giving their best effort and of course having a blast doing it.

Every day walking down the hallways or in the cafeteria, the students are eager to tell me when they have their next PE class. They count down the days till their next PE day. My favorite quote was from a Kinder student the very first week of school -- "You are the best PE Coach I have ever had!" I've been their only Coach, but it makes me smile with joy.

My Project

These materials will help keep my students active and engaged during physical education classes and also during recess. Students will have more opportunities to participate in games such as basketball, four-square, kickball and balance beam stations which will also help promote teamwork and sportsmanship. Students K-6th grades receive 45 minutes of physical education once every 3 school days. With this limited time, it is vital to optimize every minute with activities and movement to help ensure healthy and active lifestyles of the students. With your help and contribution, you will make EveryBODY happy and healthy at our amazing elementary school!
