Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a kindergarten teacher, one of my goals for the school year is to promote student voice and help develop my students' language skills.
The Qball gives the quiet and shy students an opportunity to share their voice and the talkative students an opportunity to hear more of their peers' perspectives.
With a classroom size of 20+ students, there is always a range of kids who are shy, quiet, loud, outgoing, second language learners, passive, etc. When we are on the rug for whole group lessons or activities, there are always a handful of students who shy away from participating for a multitude of reasons. The Qball was made for teachers to use in the classroom. It is a throwable wireless microphone, wrapped in foam and soft enough for students to toss back and forth to each other. With the Qball, whoever is possessing it can have their voice heard by all.
