This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our Kindergarten through fifth grade students are a perfect example of striving for greatness, even in the face of adversity. Living and growing up in a high-poverty community is not easy, but they come to school every single day with a smile on their face, eager to learn and achieve new goals. Their positivity radiates throughout the school and they enter my music classroom smiling and ready to learn many new things through music.

My Project

A quality sound system is essential to a well-rounded musical experience. Our students love performing and experiencing music whenever possible and this sound system will give me the opportunity to enhance that experience for them! Our music program is also working in conjunction with our EAST (education accelerated by service and technology) program in which students are designing and budgeting our new music room. This project is helping to teach students the importance of budgeting which is helping them to be more financially literate while also creating a new school learning environment.

This resource will be used every single day and will impact the learning and musical experience of every student in the school.

Our current sound system setup has blown speakers which pop and often squeal in the middle of class disrupting learning while I run to turn them off. This resource is portable which means that it will be used for everyday class, as well as indoor and outdoor performances. This resource will greatly aid my students in helping to create an amazing musical experience in class as well as performances that will have an impact on the entire school and community.
