My Project

Our middle school serves approximately 600 students in grades 6-8, coming from all different backgrounds and cultures. Middle school can be overwhelming, especially for our neurodivergent students. When a student is escalated, having a safe method of calming down can make all the difference in the overall success of their day.

We hope to use these calming activities to help students have a safe activity to relax their bodies and minds, as well as teaching them different strategies to overcome adversity.

We specifically chose items that have multiple ways to use them, and provide several different routes to success. Everyone's brain works a little differently, and we love that these all provide different types of stimulation and require different amounts of concentration.
