This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
During read-aloud, student engagement increases drastically if they each of their own book to follow along with. They look forward to reading as a class.
When we encounter difficult or new words, students can not only hear how it's pronounced, but also see the spelling and how it's used in a sentence.
They are also able use these books for a deeper novel study on their own with different assignments.
Having a class set also allows students to access and enjoy novels that may otherwise be too challenging for them.
