Help me give my students individual response kits so that even with masks and social distancing, I will know what each child is thinking and how much each student understands!

My Students
Our sixth-grade students are very diverse and have a lot of personality! At this age, students are "awakening" their "adult minds" and asking all the questions they can. It is a lot of fun to work with students in this grade-level, because they have a lot of opinions and ideas, as well as curiosities.
At our school, we have lots of cultural capitol and we focus on working together and supporting each other as a community.
Many of our students tend to praise and recognize one another on a regular basis, and often, the "new kids" are immediately "folded" into the existing social structure, gaining a family of friends in an instant. It is a real joy to watch them interact and explore as they mature.
These kids are at the "top of the heap" this year, as they finish elementary school. They start the year with a lot of confidence and bravado. That turns to nervousness and worries later on, as they begin to realize they will have to learn a whole new school and daily routine the next year, as they enter Middle School! In June, they will cry, but we tell them to come back anytime!
My Project
For safety in these times, students can no longer work in teams and I cannot go around and physically check each student’s answers. With masks, it will be very difficult for me to hear students when they speak. Every student deserves the chance to be heard during class discussions and “show what they know.” By providing each student with their own dry erase “response board,” markers and erasers, all students will have equitable opportunities to share ideas and opinions, and for their learning to be evaluated within lessons. Since students have missed a lot of learning during the pandemic, I, as a teacher, need to make sure I can quickly assess for student understanding, for every student, in every lesson, so that I’m not leaving anyone out or anyone behind.
