My Project
As a reading interventionist, I work with students who need extra support and encouragement on their journey to becoming strong, confident readers. Each day, I meet with small groups of children who are working hard to build their phonics skills, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. But to make the most of our time together, we need the right tools—and right now, we’re running low.
Simple items like dry-erase boards, markers, tissues, highlighters, Sharpies, and even dice and colorful cardstock help make our lessons engaging and interactive.
We use dry-erase materials for phonics drills, comprehension check-ins, and writing practice. Highlighters and Sharpies help with close reading and annotation. Dice and cardstock let us play quick games that build fluency, all while making learning feel fun—not frustrating.
And when students give their best effort, I love rewarding them with small surprises like Hershey’s Kisses—a sweet token that says “You’re doing great!”
These supplies may seem small, but they make a big difference in our reading room. They keep students engaged, organized, and motivated. With your help, we can ensure every child walks in ready to learn, grow, and believe in themselves as readers.
