Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students are typical 4 and 5-year-old Prekindergartners who love coming to school to learn and play with their friends. They are creative, curious, and eager to discover new things.

I love the excitement that my students show each day when they learn something new during our Pet Study or “Investigation”.

During this study, they will learn about the different kinds of pets and the responsibilities involved in properly caring for them. Having each student choose a pet that they would like to have, and care for will be such a dream come true.

On Adoption Day, families will be invited to help their child decide which pet they would like to adopt from a selection of stuffed cats and dogs. Once they pick a new pet, they will give it a name, receive an adoption certificate, and take their new pet home.

This project aims to provide a memorable and educational experience for the young learners, fostering empathy and responsibility.
