My Project

Since Covid, we have been working on incorporating more student choice and student voice. Our 6th graders have been learning the basics of coding this school year using coding.org. As part of coding, I would like to incorporate more physical coding with my students to enhance their learning and to be able to share their great ideas and projects.

Since we started incorporating more coding into our classrooms, it has helped to increase peer interactions and build a community of learners through problem-solving, persistence, creativity, collaboration, and communication.

Skills that were taken away from these students since COVID-19. Our project is asking for more Microbits so that everyone can have their Microbits to work on. We are also asking for Microbit cases so that we can protect our investment throughout the years and continue to support all our students in 6th grade with coding manipulatives. The Robot was added to our shopping list so that we can continue to explore what our students can achieve beyond the basic Microbits. Please consider supporting our project for our students.
