My Project

COVID quickly separated our students from school, forcing them to learn alone at home with limited resources. Coming back from COVID, we have been incorporating Computer Science into our classroom to enhance their learning. Computer Science is foundational for every student to understand and participate in society and is valuable for every student to learn as a modern education. Our students have been participating in learning experiences that are active, relevant to their lives, and provided students with authentic choices. Using Code.org, we are building an inclusive classroom community, allowing students to communicate collaboratively, explore concepts together, and build their understanding through various physical and online activities.

Adding Micro:bits to our Computer Science resources, will extend our students learning and allow them to physically compute to enhance what they are learning.

It's always exciting when they get to see their programming come to life and watch as it boosts students' self-confidence and self-esteem. Our classroom only has 1 micro:bit to share among 60 students so increasing the amount of resources will allow students to share more of their experiences with each other. Our students need your support, every little (micro)bit counts!
