My Project

Artists and thinkers, our students are the next generation. As educators, we have the opportunity to impact the next generation of world changers. We have the opportunity to provide learning experiences for them that help shape their mind, creativity, and perception of the world. These materials will help me create a learning environment for students that foster their growth and creativity. Art supplies are not included in school supply kits so the fulfillment of this project would help meet the need in our class. This would also help with phonological awareness skills, fine motor skills, and open-mindedness. Due to COViD-19, students have missed opportunities for creativity and exploration. Students were not able to attend art classes, go to school, or attend other creative experiences. These materials would provide opportunities for students they previously were not able to have. It will provide opportunities for students to express themselves, show their academic knowledge, and learn about new concepts. Our students are special and unique because they have experienced a pandemic in the early years of their lives. We don’t have all the research yet to see how this will impact them, however we are seeing the social and emotional deficits the students are having due to being home for so long.
