My Project

Teaching middle school means wearing about seventeen hats a day and apparently "classroom supply store" is one of them. Between my AVID students and my U.S. History classes, I have kids who show up ready to learn but without the basic tools to do it. And like most teachers, I've been quietly filling that gap out of my own pocket for years.

This project is my attempt to stop doing that — and to build a classroom that is genuinely stocked and ready for whatever the day brings.

The supplies on this list aren't extras. They're the basics that make learning actually happen: pencils for note-taking, markers and highlighters for annotations and projects, index cards for studying and review, organizers to keep our workspace functional, and stapler and scissors for the endless stream of hands-on activities that make middle school feel alive.

AVID is all about organization, collaboration, and college readiness and those skills are a lot harder to teach when students are sharing one pair of scissors between four people. In U.S. History, we bring the past to life through projects, timelines, and creative assignments, none of which happen without the right materials.

Your donation means I keep that money in my own pocket for once and put better tools in my students' hands instead. That's a trade I think we can all feel good about.
