Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach second grade at a two-way immersion school where both native Spanish speakers and native English speakers come together to learn a new language from one another. Our school goal is to help students become bilingual, biliterate, and culturally competent.
My sweet, bilingual first graders are hard-working, kind, and a joy to teach.
They come to school and push themselves daily while learning multiple languages. I am so proud to be their teacher!
When I taught about Earth Day, my students were fascinated! They loved learning about how big and diverse our planet is but were also saddened to learn the Earth is becoming polluted and some animals are in danger. I want to have books about Earth, its animals, and how we can make positive environmental choices available for my students all year. These books will allow my students to learn about our planet and the ways they can help protect it.
