Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

One of our major goals in PreK is to provide materials and tools that support every child’s creativity. My scholars are inquisitive, kind, loving, and full of energy. They love to play, learn, and to follow along and participate in any activity they are presented with. They are ready to conquer anything that’s laid out before them.

My classroom has the sub population of English Language Learners (ELL’s), students who come from different cultures and countries.

This makes our classroom such a rich learning environment for all. It's a perfect place to learn about each other, through the use of art.

My Project

Being able to provide a space for kids to independently use our centers is one of my primary goals as a pre-k teacher. The way my art center is set up right now, it does not allow kids to be able to work on their own. We have to take the center out and put it away when not used. There is no space for the paint that needs to be stored too. Students are not able to have the art center available at all times, because of the lack of space. I am requesting a four sided art easel painting center and a sand/water table to support their artistic endeavors. If we were to have this easel it would make things so much more accessible. The paper, paint, brushes and other tools would be all there for them to use. The art center would be a student centered activity.

This easel would be such a great addition in helping my scholars have the best time and utilize the resources in their classroom to its fullest potential.
