A major part of a Pre-K student's educational day is doing centers. Centers are activities located in specific areas in the classroom. Center time affords the children opportunities to work together or to work independently. Centers help solidify learning concepts and help children develop social skills. They are practicing many important concepts in the safety of the classroom. Some of the skills the students are exploring include: time management, self-regulation, making mistakes, learning new skills and developing language. However; many of the items used during center time are required to be stored in bins. Having a place to store them makes it easier for little hands to get the items they need.
